Legal Assistants coordinate office activities for Attorneys or Administrative Law Examiners. Legal Assistants perform a variety of legal secretarial duties such as scheduling hearings, preparing legal documents, docketing cases and providing data and direction to others. The work requires knowledge of legal, secretarial, and office practices. Our Legal Secretary Specialist program takes the training to another level for individuals looking to work in a legal office setting. Individuals will learn the necessary skills to becoming a successful legal assistant, study and understand the law and prepare for the Microsoft Office Specialist certification exam.
Understanding the Law The US legal system plays an ever-increasing role in our lives. Legal Assistant (Secretary)Looking for a challenge? Do you like research and staying organized? Do you enjoy the excitement of a busy office? Unlike regular assistants/secretaries, legal assistants require extensive knowledge of legal proceedings and documentation. Prerequisite & Recommendation: Student needs to have general secretarial training or experience. We highly recommend that the student also take a course in Understanding the Law to have a very solid background in the legal system.
